Marseille signs World champion from Argentina
Marseille has announced the acquisition of goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli.
The Ajax and Argentina international has joined Marseille, as confirmed by the French club's press office. The transfer fee is reported to be €3 million. The 32-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract with the Provençal side that runs until the summer of 2027.
Gerónimo Rulli had been with Ajax since January 2023, making 32 appearances for the Amsterdam club, keeping 12 clean sheets and conceding 37 goals.
Rulli was part of the Argentina squad that won the 2022 World Cup. However, the goalkeeper did not make an appearance during the tournament in Qatar.
Transfermarkt estimates the player's market value at €5 million.
