Mbappe: "It's wrong to say I came to Real Madrid for the Champions League"
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe spoke about his debut for the Madrid club in the Champions League match against Stuttgart (3:1). The striker scored a goal in this encounter in the 46th minute.
"A fantastic evening. We wanted to start our journey in the Champions League with a victory, and this match proved to be challenging. It was crucial to win the first encounter because everything has changed in the Champions League, and success needs to be achieved as early as possible. The opponent played well, and we faced difficulties in the first half in bringing the ball out from our half. In the second half, we created chances - pressed actively, and it paid off.
I am confident that I will score more goals. With each game, I feel more assured and know that I can increase my productivity. When playing for Real Madrid, you always have to strive for victory. It's wrong to say I came here for the Champions League. We aim to win every match, and we succeeded against Stuttgart - now let's see what awaits us in the next encounter," quoted Mbappe by Be Soccer.
Last summer, the French forward joined Real Madrid as a free agent after his contract with PSG expired.
