Milan's coach on the match against Liverpool in the Champions League: "We feel we can win"
Milan's head coach Paulo Fonseca has spoken about the upcoming home match against Liverpool in the first round of the Champions League group stage.
"Liverpool is an excellent team, one of the strongest in Europe. They are very solid both positionally and individually, and we all know their players well. We will need to perform perfectly in defense to achieve victory.
In the Champions League, against teams of this caliber, you cannot afford errors. Any mistake can lead to a conceded goal. We must defend reliably in order to have opportunities in attack.
Do I agree that Liverpool is the favorite? We can say anything we want—words are just words. What matters is what we do on the pitch. The most important thing is how we feel. And we feel that we can and want to beat Liverpool," Fonseca said at the press conference.
The match between the two teams will take place on September 17 in Milan at the San Siro Stadium.
