Neves on the Saudi league: "In 40-degree heat, I run more than I did in England, according to my GPS"

Midfielder of the Saudi club Al-Hilal and the Portugal national team, Ruben Neves, believes that football in Saudi Arabia is on par with its European counterparts.

“Is football in Saudi Arabia weaker than in Europe?” he was asked. Neves replied, “I advise anyone who thinks so to watch football in Saudi Arabia. I can tell you that, according to my GPS data, I'm running more than I did in England – the difference is that I'm doing it in 40-degree heat. I feel like I'm in great shape, just like Cristiano.”

When asked if Ronaldo could score 1,000 goals, he responded, “With Ronaldo, anything is possible.”
