Neymar wanted to return to Barcelona, club declines — Romero
Neymar, the forward for Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal and the Brazilian national team, wanted to return to Barcelona this summer, but the club declined his candidacy, reports journalist Gerard Romero on his social media.
Barcelona was seeking reinforcement on the left wing of the attack but did not want to bring back the 32-year-old forward due to his serious injury. Additionally, the Blaugrana could not meet Neymar’s financial demands.
To recap, the Brazilian suffered a severe injury in October 2023 during a World Cup 2026 qualifying match against Uruguay (0-2).
Neymar joined Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023. During this period, the forward participated in five matches across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing three assists. Previously, the striker played for Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Santos.
