Oilers GM Calls Draisaitl’s New Contract a “Historic Day for Edmonton”
Edmonton Oilers’ General Manager, Stan Bowman, has commented on the signing of a new contract with team forward Leon Draisaitl.
Today, the Oilers announced the signing of a new eight-year deal with the 28-year-old German, worth $14 million annually. Starting from the 2025/26 season, the forward will become the highest-paid player in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Leon Draisaitl has been with Edmonton since 2014. During his tenure with the Oilers, the forward has played in 719 games, amassing 850 points (347 goals and 503 assists).
