O'Malley: "I can defeat McGregor in his current condition"

Current UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley has commented on a potential matchup against former two-title holder Conor McGregor.

«This is a fight that falls into the big category, and I wouldn't be opposed to it. I'm not calling out the bigger guys from lightweight or welterweight because I know my place. I compete in the bantamweight division, but I truly believe I could beat Conor in his current condition.

I'm just speaking honestly. I'm just telling the truth. I believe I can defeat Conor McGregor. When your idols become your opponents, it's incredibly cool. But right now, I'm not a big fan of Conor», O'Malley said on the ESPN MMA YouTube channel.

McGregor has not stepped into the octagon since July 2021, when he lost by technical knockout to American Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Throughout his MMA career, the Irish fighter has secured 22 wins and suffered six losses.
