Pepe Announces Retirement at 41

Former Real Madrid defender Pepe has announced his retirement from football.

The 41-year-old player secured 28 trophies at the club level with Real Madrid and Porto, as well as two major honours with the Portugal national team — the European Championship and the Nations League.

The Portuguese footballer's final club was Porto, where he played from 2019 to 2024.

During the recent Euro 2024 in Germany, Pepe and the Portugal national team reached the quarter-finals. The defender featured in four matches throughout the tournament.
