Porto acquires Atlético forward for €15 Million, player initially linked with Chelsea for €40 million

Porto has announced the signing of Atlético Madrid forward Samu Omorodion.

The Portuguese club paid €15 million for the 20-year-old striker, while Atlético will also receive 50% of any future transfer fee. Additionally, Porto could reduce this payout by paying €5 million for two portions of 15% over the next two years. The Spanish striker has signed a contract with Porto that runs until the summer of 2029, which includes a release clause set at €100 million.

Earlier reports indicated that Omorodion was close to moving to Chelsea for €41 million.

Omorodion joined Atlético from Granada in the summer of 2023, having spent the previous season on loan at Alavés. During his time with the Basque club, the forward made 36 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing one assist.

Transfermarkt values the player at €35 million.
