Real Madrid target Laporte in January, aiming for Alexander-Arnold in the summer

Real Madrid are looking to strengthen their defensive line in the near future.

According to The Athletic journalist Mario Cortegana, the club's primary transfer target is Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract expires in the summer of 2025. However, the move is only likely to happen if Alexander-Arnold joins as a free agent.

Additionally, Madrid’s management has agreed with head coach Carlo Ancelotti that a new central defender is needed in the January window. The club is considering signing Aymeric Laporte (Al-Nassr), Castello Lukeba (RB Leipzig), and 18-year-old Vitor Reis from Palmeiras.
