Red Bull Chief Horner Asserts Team's Championship Ambitions Despite Challenging Stretch

Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner has affirmed the team’s commitment to winning the Formula 1 championship, in spite of a difficult patch in the season.

"What impresses me about Max [Verstappen] is his level of engagement. He doesn’t panic. He works closely with the engineers. He identifies issues very clearly. On race day, he’s present early in the morning, and last week he was in touch with the engineers via Zoom, planning to work on the simulator ahead of the next race. He’s showing real maturity. No one in the team is happy with our current situation. We need to put in a lot of work to turn it around. This team has the strength, depth, and talent; we will definitely get back into the fight. Formula 1 is a team sport, and the team will find a solution," Horner was quoted by journalist Adam Cooper on his blog.

On September 1, the Italian Grand Prix concluded at the Monza circuit, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc taking the victory. Verstappen finished sixth.

After 19 rounds of Formula 1, the Dutchman leads the overall standings with 303 points. In second place is McLaren's Lando Norris with 241 points.

In the Constructors' Championship, Red Bull is in the lead with 446 points, followed closely by McLaren with 438 points.
