Rice explained why he did not celebrate the goal against Ireland

Arsenal and England midfielder Declan Rice told why he did not celebrate the goal scored against the national team of Ireland (2:0) in the Nations League match.

In the past meeting, Rice scored a goal and gave a productive pass.

«If I were to celebrate, it would be very disrespectful of me. My grandparents, all my father's family members are Irish and they have sadly passed away. They are no longer here. Honestly, I didn't want to do this.

I had such a great time playing for the Irish national team, even in the first team and U19, U21. They were great memories that live with me. So, to be honest, I don't have one bad word to say. I wish them all the best», Sky Sports quoted Rice as saying.

In the next match, the England national team will play against Finland on September 10.
