Roberto leaves Barcelona after 18 years at the club

Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto has announced his departure from the club. 

The midfielder and team captain shared a farewell video on his social media accounts, confirming his exit. The 32-year-old Spaniard leaves the Catalan side as his contract has expired, making him a free agent.

Sergi Roberto is a product of Barcelona's youth system, having spent 18 years with the club. He made his first-team debut for the Blaugrana in 2010. In total, Roberto played 373 matches for Barcelona, scoring 19 goals and providing 43 assists.

During his time with the club, Roberto won the Spanish league title seven times, as well as the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, and two UEFA Champions League titles. He also claimed six Copa del Rey trophies and five Spanish Super Cups.

Earlier reports indicated that Sergi Roberto may continue his career with Girona.
