Saka on officiating in the match against Brighton: «We wanted consistency»

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka criticized the referees for their inconsistency during the third round Premier League match against Brighton, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

«I think it was a harsh stance towards us. We just wanted consistency. In the first half, João Pedro kicked the ball over the halfway line and there was no action, yet Rice barely touched him and was sent off.

It is what it is; I don't want to shift the blame for the result onto the referee because we still had chances to win. We started well. Today’s match was disappointing, but it’s a long season,» Saka stated to Football.London.

At the beginning of the second half, Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice received his second yellow card from referee Chris Kavanagh for kicking the ball away just before the opposition's free kick. Meanwhile, Joel Veltman had also kicked him on the leg.
