Sheeran has become a co-owner of Ipswich
The renowned British singer Ed Sheeran has become a co-owner of Ipswich Town Football Club, according to a statement from the team's press office.
The 33-year-old musician has acquired a minority stake in the club, owning 1.4% of the shares. However, Sheeran will not join the club's board of directors.
«I am very pleased to have purchased a small share in the football club of my hometown. It is every football fan's dream to own the club they support, and I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity», — Sheeran said.
Following last season, Ipswich Town has made a return to the Premier League. In their first match of the season, the team will face Liverpool at home on August 17th.
