The candidates for the position of IOC President have been announced

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the candidates for the position of president in an official press release.

World Athletics President Sebastian Coe, International Gymnastics Federation President Morinari Watanabe, International Cycling Union President David Lappartient, International Ski and Snowboard Federation President Johan Eliasch, IOC Vice President Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr., Faisal Al-Hussein from Jordan, and Zimbabwe's Kirsty Coventry have been named as candidates for the position of IOC President.

The IOC presidential elections will take place in March 2025. Current IOC President Thomas Bach has previously stated that he will not be seeking re-election. Applications for the IOC presidency were accepted until 15 September.
