The NHL has announced plans for which countries it intends to host league games in the coming years

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly has discussed the countries where league games may take place in the coming years.

«We have a list of locations where we want to take our teams and develop markets. Previously, we had a rotation: Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, but I think that will change in the short term.

Everyone likely has thoughts on priority markets. I believe we want to return to London. I assume both the players and the NHL Players Association are eager to return to London and hold a game there. Germany and Switzerland are probably the top candidates for regular-season games in the near future.

In Australia, we faced challenges related to producing quality ice, and we need to ensure we can manage that because we don’t want to put players at risk, especially in a preseason game. Nonetheless, it was still a positive experience», Daly was quoted by the NHL website.

Previously, league games have been held in Vienna (Austria), Berlin (Germany), Zurich (Switzerland), Antwerp (Belgium), and London (United Kingdom).
