The Reason Behind Barcelona's Decision to Sell Gündogan Revealed

Barcelona plans to sell German midfielder Ilkay Gündogan due to his high salary.

According to Marca, the midfielder earns around €15 million per year at Barça. The Catalan club aims to part ways with the player and use the freed-up funds to register their new signing, Dani Olmo.

Gündogan has been with Barcelona since the summer of 2023. Last season, the midfielder scored five goals and provided 14 assists in 51 matches for the Blaugrana.

Gündogan's contract with the Catalan club runs until the summer of 2025. According to Transfermarkt, the player's market value is estimated at €15 million.
