«They're trying to sweep it under the rug»: Shapovalov on Sinner's positive doping tests

Canadian tennis player Denis Shapovalov has commented on the positive doping tests of Italian player Jannik Sinner.

«My words have nothing to do with Jannik specifically. I'm talking about how they handle situations differently depending on the player involved. It's unfair that some athletes have been banned for years due to contamination, while others are allowed to continue playing. They're trying to sweep it under the rug,» Shapovalov told Tennis Majors.

In March of this year, Sinner tested positive for clostebol twice.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that the Italian player avoided a suspension as it was determined that the samples were contaminated by a spray that Sinner's physiotherapist used to treat a cut on his own finger.
