Top UFC fighter explains why he wants to move to the lightweight division

UFC fighter Brian Ortega explained why he wants to move to the lightweight division.

«There’s a traffic jam in the featherweight division. Holloway is fighting Topuria, Volkanovski is waiting for the winner, and Sterling will clash with Evloev. The division is moving slowly, and to get a title shot, you have to wait in line.

When I last spoke with the guys at UFC, they told me there are no opponents for me in the featherweight division. I replied that there are top-10 guys who are currently resting. But they said they want bigger things for me.

I was offered to wait, but I said I don't want to waste time. I'm not getting any younger. I want to stay in the game,» Ortega said in an interview with Submission Radio.

The fighter is currently ranked third in the featherweight division. The lightweight champion is Russian fighter Islam Makhachev.
