The victory for Spurs was secured through a brace from Son Heung-Min, along with goals from Yves Bissouma and Cristian Gabriel Romero.
Tottenham now sits in third place in the English Championship table with four points. Meanwhile, Everton has suffered their second consecutive defeat at the start of the season and currently finds themselves at the bottom in 20th place.
In the next round, Everton will face Bournemouth on 31 August, while the Londoners are set to play against Newcastle a day later.
