Tuchel: "The opportunity to represent England is a huge privilege"
German coach Thomas Tuchel has spoken about his appointment as the head coach of the England national team.
"I am extremely proud to have the honor of leading the England team. I have felt a personal connection with football in this country for a long time, and it has already given me some incredible moments. The opportunity to represent England is a huge privilege, and the prospect of working with this special and talented group of players is very exciting.
Anthony will be my assistant, and we will do everything we can to ensure England achieves success and brings joy to the fans. I would like to thank the Football Association, especially Mark and John, for their trust, and I am looking forward to starting our journey together," Tuchel said in a statement released by the FA.
The 51-year-old coach will officially take charge of the England national team in 2025. His contract runs until July 2026. Previously, the German managed clubs such as Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich.
