UFC Champion Topuria insists McGregor doesn’t deserve to fight him

UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria has spoken out about the prospect of a fight against Irishman Conor McGregor.

«I wanted to fight Conor, but not anymore. It seems like he has mentally retired. He hasn't fought for 2-3 years... Maybe if he puts on a good performance and seriously returns to the game... But right now, he doesn’t deserve to fight me. I am the champion. He was a star, but now he is a nobody,» Topuria told MMA Junkie.

In his last bout, held in February, Topuria knocked out Alexander Volkanovski to secure the championship title. The undefeated Spanish-Georgian fighter boasts a career MMA record of 15 wins.
