Umar Nurmagomedov has shared details of a personal conversation with UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili: «For you, I'm injured»

The undefeated Russian fighter Umar Nurmagomedov revealed that he had a direct discussion with the current UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili regarding a fight, prior to Dvalishvili's title victory.

«We talked in New Jersey when Sterling was fighting Cejudo. At that time, the UFC was attempting to arrange our bout and sent out contracts. However, Merab stated that he was injured. On social media, he claimed he accepted the fight with me but said a doctor advised him not to compete. In our private conversation, Merab told me, 'I would fight Sandhagen or someone else, but for you, I'm injured. Because I need to be 100 percent ready for you,» Nurmagomedov shared with Submission Radio.

Nurmagomedov holds an impeccable record of 18 wins in 18 MMA matches. Meanwhile, Dvalishvili has secured 17 victories out of 21 contests.
