Valencia temporarily suspends player suspected of sexual assault

Valencia has temporarily suspended forward Rafael Mir from training sessions.

Earlier, the 27-year-old footballer was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting two women. The alleged incident took place at the player's home on Sunday night, with one of the victims filing a report with law enforcement. In connection with the case, Mir's friend, Pablo Jara of Alcantarilla, was also detained and appeared in court. After giving their statements, both players were released on bail.

According to Marca, Valencia suspended Mir from training on Thursday and Friday to clarify the situation in detail. Additionally, the player is prohibited from leaving Spain, required to check in with the court weekly, and is forbidden from approaching the alleged victims within 500 meters.
