Verstappen Assesses His Chances of Winning the Dutch Grand Prix

Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has expressed doubts about his ability to win the Dutch Grand Prix in Formula 1.

"In the last three years, I have managed to pull away from my competitors starting from pole position, securing victory each time. But this time, I wouldn't risk saying that we are ready to repeat that success. The competition has caught up with us, and Red Bull needs to put in more effort. During the first practice, we couldn't complete many laps due to the weather conditions. The second practice gave us a slightly clearer understanding of the team's position and the competitive landscape. However, at the moment, we are not fast enough on a single lap, nor are we quick over long distances. There's still work to be done. And honestly, I don't even know what kind of progress we can achieve. The fact is, we are not the fastest team right now, and we need to find ways to change that," Verstappen told Speed Week.

Today, August 23, the British Mercedes driver George Russell won the second practice session of the Dutch Grand Prix. Verstappen finished with the fifth fastest time.

The main race of the Dutch Grand Prix will take place on August 25.
