Verstappen Doubts Red Bull Can Win Constructors' Cup and F1 in 2024

Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has assessed the team's chances of winning both the Formula 1 championship and the Constructors' Cup in the 2024 season.

"At the moment, there’s no chance of claiming both titles. It now depends on the team, on whether it can turn things around. Over the last six to eight months, we’ve gone from having a dominant car to one that’s impossible to drive. It’s very strange; the car really needs to be overhauled completely to find the cause. The car is unmanageable. We have a huge problem with balance—not just on a single fast lap, but also in race conditions. I’ve always said Adrian Newey must stay. Last year we had an excellent car, the most dominant ever, and we’ve turned it into a monster. Now we need to fix it. We have no excuses,” Verstappen was quoted as saying by Racer.

The Italian Grand Prix concluded at the Monza circuit on 1 September, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc emerging victorious. Verstappen finished sixth.

After 19 races, Dutch driver Max Verstappen leads the overall F1 standings with 303 points. In second place is Lando Norris from McLaren with 241 points.

In the Constructors' Cup, Red Bull leads with 446 points, followed closely by McLaren with 438 points.
