Verstappen: «Whether I win the title or not, it won't change my life»

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has spoken about the possibility of losing the title fight.

«Listen, I'm just doing everything I can. Whether I win the title or not, it won't change my life. Would I like to win? Yes, of course. But the performance of the car is not something I can directly influence.

I can only strive to showcase my best. I aim to provide the team with good feedback and help make the car faster. Whether that will be enough at the end of the year, I don't know. But I do know that as a team we are definitely giving our all.

At the same time, I am enjoying the current battle. Would I like to win more? Absolutely. But I also understand that replicating a season like last year's is unrealistic right now. Did I expect the season to unfold this way? Not really. So now it's up to us to try to improve the car. And I know that everyone is pushing themselves to reach the goal,» Verstappen told Motorsportweek.

The Red Bull driver continues to lead in Formula 1, but he has not won in the last five consecutive races, while McLaren's Lando Norris has started to close the gap.
