Verstappen's Father in Talks with Mercedes Over Son's Transfer

Jos Verstappen, father of Red Bull's Dutch driver Max Verstappen, has reportedly reached an agreement with Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff about his son's transfer to the German team in 2026.

"An oral agreement has been reached between Jos Verstappen and Toto Wolff for Max to join Mercedes," F1-Insider reported. "The Verstappen family believes that the German team will be better prepared for the new regulations in 2026."

Max Verstappen won seven out of the first ten races this season but has not secured a victory in the following seven Grand Prix events. Last season, the Dutchman achieved 19 wins in 22 Grand Prix.
