«We Don’t Know Everything Happening Inside the Team»: Alcaraz on Sinner’s Doping Case

Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has spoken out about the doping scandal involving Italian Jannik Sinner.

«I think this is a difficult period for him. But what can I say? I believe in clean sport. I think we don’t know everything that is happening inside the team. However, Jannik has been allowed to play and was declared not guilty. That's all I know. I have nothing more to add,» Alcaraz said during a press conference ahead of the US Open.

It was previously reported that Sinner tested positive for doping twice in March this year but managed to avoid disqualification.

Despite evading disqualification, Sinner was stripped of 400 ranking points and prize money from the Masters series tournament in Indian Wells.
