"We knew it would be a very tough match": Sinner on his victory over Medvedev

Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has commented on his quarterfinal victory against Russia's Daniil Medvedev at the US Open.

"It was really tough. We've already played twice this year and know each other well. We knew it would be a very tough match. The first two sets were strange because whoever made the first break would then start to come back. I am very happy," Sinner said in an on-court interview after the match.

The match concluded with a score of 6-2, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. Sinner will face Britain's Jack Draper in the semifinal.
