Williams driver's car catches fire after crash during Dutch Grand Prix practice

The car of Williams driver Logan Sargeant caught fire following a crash during the third practice session for the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix. The incident was captured on video and shared by the Formula 1 press service on social media.

The American driver lost control after his wheel hit wet grass at the exit of Turn Three. Sargeant's car skidded, spun around, and collided with the barriers. As a result of the crash, the car lost its right rear wheel and subsequently caught fire. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed and managed to exit the cockpit unaided.

Red flags were raised after the accident, bringing the session to a halt. At that point, Pierre Gasly of Alpine was leading the practice, followed by Kevin Magnussen from Haas in second place and Valtteri Bottas from Alfa Romeo in third. Reigning world champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull was in 17th position.

The main race of the Dutch Grand Prix will take place at the Zandvoort circuit tomorrow, August 25.
