Williams on decision not to move to Barcelona: «My heart belongs to Atletico»

Athletic Bilbao striker Nico Williams has explained why he didn't move to Barcelona in the past transfer window.

«It's always nice when great clubs put your name on the interest list, but for me it was always clear that I wanted to be here. I feel a great desire to do something good for this club.

Negotiations with Barcelona? This is a matter for my representative. There have been many close calls with different clubs, but my heart belongs to Athletic and I want to stay here. However, no one knows what will happen in the future», Sport.es quoted Williams as saying.

Last season Williams played 37 games for Athletic, scored eight goals and gave 19 assists.
