Wirtz and Grimaldo to start for Bayer Leverkusen against Feyenoord in Champions League
Rotterdam’s Feyenoord and Leverkusen’s Bayer have announced their starting line-ups for their opening match in the Champions League league stage.
Feyenoord: Wellenreuther – Hancko, Beelen, Trauner, Lotomba – Timber, Zerrouki, Hwang – Paixão, Gimenez, Milambo.
Bayer: Hradecky – Hincapié, Tah, Tapsoba – Grimaldo, Andrich, Xhaka, Frimpong – Wirtz, Terrier, Boniface.
The match between Feyenoord and Bayer will be held at the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam. The kick-off is scheduled for 17:45 BST.
In the Champions League group stage, each team will play eight matches against different opponents. The top eight teams will advance directly to the Round of 16. Teams finishing between 9th and 24th will enter play-offs for the right to compete in the knockout rounds. The remaining teams will be eliminated from European competitions.
