Partizan vs Hibernian: prediction & betting odds 7 August 2025
Betting tips 7 August 2025
Partizan Belgrade have settled into the UEFA Conference League after their early elimination from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of AEK Larnaca. Their next challenge comes in the form of Hibernian , who were eliminated from the competition following a dramatic clash with Midtjylland.
Partizan Belgrade are in good shape, having won four of their last five competitive fixtures. They were particularly impressive in the previous round, defeating Oleksandriya 2:0 and 4:0 across both legs. Their form at home has also been strong, with just one loss in their last five games on their own turf.
Hibernian showed little promise during the off-season, managing just one win from five friendly matches, alongside three defeats and a draw. In UEFA Europa League qualifying, Hibernian were unable to progress past Midtjylland, drawing both legs 1:1 before losing 1:2 after extra time. In that tie, they allowed Midtjylland to produce 3.84 xG.
At this stage, Partizan Belgrade appear the more cohesive and better-prepared team. With their European pedigree, current scoring form, and the advantage of playing at home, they are expected to dispatch Hibernian without significant resistance.
Partizan Belgrade eased past Oleksandriya in the second qualifying round with a 6:0 aggregate win, while Hibernian were eliminated from the Europa League after a 3:2 aggregate defeat to Midtjylland. Both teams now face their final chance to remain in European competition.
Partizan Belgrade have not lifted the Serbian SuperLiga title since the 2016/17 season and once again finished runners-up last year, 27 points behind Red Star Belgrade. In last season’s Europa League qualifiers, the squad were eliminated on penalties by AEK Larnaca, but they bounced back in the Europa Conference League with a convincing win over Oleksandriya. Partizan Belgrade seem to have found their rhythm, recording two wins in their opening domestic fixtures and currently riding a four-match winning streak.
Hibernian secured third place in the Scottish Premiership last season but were unable to get past Midtjylland in Europa League qualification. On a more positive note, they opened the new league campaign with a 2:1 win against Dundee FC. However, their away record remains a concern: just one win in their last five competitive away matches, not counting pre-season friendlies. Two of their last three away games ended in draws.
Partizan Belgrade come into this tie in better form and will benefit from home advantage, but Hibernian have shown grit and could still walk away with something. This looks set to be a closely fought contest with limited goal-scoring opportunities.
