Young Boys have dropped out of the top 24 and will now try to secure a place in the European spring (knockout stage), but first they face Lille, who can qualify directly for the play-offs.
Young Boys
Young Boys are having a difficult season in the Europa League. In five matches, they have collected only six points, conceding 12 goals and scoring seven, which clearly highlights their defensive problems. At home, they have won only one of their two games. Things are not going smoothly for them in the Super League either: the team lost their most recent league match to Sion (0:2), and before that conceded four goals against Servette in a 4:4 draw. Young Boys are winless in three matches in all competitions, and there are no obvious signs of improvement yet.
Lille
Lille are showing a contrasting dynamic. They have taken nine points from five Europa League matches, scoring 10 goals and conceding only six. In their last European fixture, the team thrashed Dinamo Zagreb (4:0), while in the league they earned important wins over Le Havre (1:0) and Olympique Marseille (1:0). Bruno Génésio has built a balanced squad who look assured both in attack and defence and also show mental resilience away from home. In the Europa League on their travels, Lille beat AS Roma (1:0) and lost to Red Star Belgrade, conceding only in the 85th minute from the penalty spot.
Young Boys vs Lille Prediction
Young Boys are capable of causing problems in attack, but that should not be enough to beat Lille, who have won four matches in a row. We expect a fifth straight victory for them.
