Atlético Stadium could face closure due to fan misconduct in derby against Real Madrid

The Committee for the Prevention of Violence has proposed a complete closure of Atlético Madrid's stadium for 15 days, along with a fine of €65,000 for the club.

It is worth noting that the La Liga match on matchday eight between Atlético and Real Madrid at the Metropolitano was halted for 15 minutes due to the behaviour of fans in the stands. Supporters were reported to have shouted insults and thrown various objects at goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Following the incident, Atlético faced partial stadium closures for three home matches and a fine of €45,000.

According to reports from As, the committee deemed the incident "very serious." The sanctions against Atlético are intended to signify a "before" and "after" in Spanish sport.
