Barcelona May Lose Ter Stegen for an Extended Period Due to Knee Injury
Barcelona's goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen might be sidelined for seven to nine months owing to a knee injury, as reported by journalist Xavi Miguel on social media.
The player sustained the injury during the 6th round of the Spanish championship against Villarreal, where Barcelona triumphed 5-1. Ter Stegen started the match for the Catalan side but had to be substituted by Iñaki Peña in the first half after injuring his knee. The German goalkeeper was eventually carried off the field on a stretcher.
Barcelona currently leads the Spanish championship with 18 points, securing their sixth consecutive victory in La Liga.
