Besiktas fans will be prohibited from attending the away match against Lyon in the Europa League
Supporters of Turkish club Besiktas will be barred from attending the away match in the third round of the Europa League group stage against French side Lyon. This has been reported by RMC Sport.
The national authority for combatting hooliganism has deemed the upcoming fixture to be very high-risk. Additionally, Besiktas fans will be prohibited from driving in the city center of Lyon and on the toll roads surrounding the city. The French Ministry of the Interior is expected to publish a corresponding order shortly.
The match between Lyon and Besiktas is scheduled for October 24. In the opening round, Lyon secured a 2-0 victory over Greek club Olympiacos, while Besiktas suffered a 4-0 defeat to Dutch side Ajax.
