Braces from Fernandes and Casemiro propel Manchester United to convincing win over Leicester in Carabao Cup
The round of 16 League Cup clash at Old Trafford concluded with Manchester United securing a 5-2 victory over Leicester City.
The Red Devils saw double strikes from Casemiro in the 15th and 39th minutes and Bruno Fernandes in the 36th and 59th minutes. Alejandro Garnacho added another in the 28th minute. The Foxes responded with goals from Bilal El Khannouss in the 33rd minute and Conor Coady just before the halftime whistle in added time (45+3').
This marked Manchester United's first win under new management following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag and their first victory in the last three matches. The Manchester side previously suffered a 2-1 defeat to West Ham in the Premier League and drew 1-1 with Fenerbahce in the Europa League.
The next opponent for Manchester United in the League Cup will be determined in due course.
