CAS has reviewed the suspension of Núñez from Uruguay's national team

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has reviewed the suspension of Darwin Núñez from Uruguay's national team.

According to journalist Rodrigo Romano on social media, CAS has temporarily allowed the footballer to participate in Uruguay’s October matches. Marcelo Bielsa's team is set to face Peru and Ecuador as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

This temporary measure is part of the ongoing appeal process initiated by the Uruguayan Football Federation, following CONMEBOL's Appeals Committee decision to uphold the original sanctions.

Núñez was initially suspended for five national team matches under CONMEBOL's jurisdiction and fined $20,000 for his involvement in an altercation with Colombian fans.
