Diego Costa involved in altercation during youth match for Grêmio
Former Chelsea and Atlético Madrid forward Diego Costa engaged in a brawl during a match for Grêmio's U-20 team.
The Brazilian club assigned the 35-year-old striker to the youth squad to help him regain fitness following an injury. Towards the end of their match against Juventude (0-1), Costa instigated a fight by attacking 19-year-old opponent Davi Góes from behind and then grabbing him by the throat. The Spanish forward received a straight red card, and security personnel had to escort him off the field.
Diego Costa joined Grêmio in February as a free agent, signing a contract that runs until the end of the year. This season, the 35-year-old has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 16 matches.
According to Transfermarkt, Costa's market value is estimated at €1.5 million.
