England and Greece teams observe minute's silence for defender Baldock
The national teams of England and Greece observed a minute of silence in memory of former Sheffield United defender George Baldock.
The footballers paid tribute to the 31-year-old player before their head-to-head match in the third round of Group B2 of the Nations League. Baldock, born in England, represented the Greek national team.
The former Sheffield defender passed away recently, with his body found in the swimming pool at his home in Athens.
George Baldock had been with Sheffield United since 2017, making 219 appearances for the Blades, including 83 matches in the English Premier League. Last summer, he transferred to Panathinaikos, for whom he played four matches this season.
Baldock made his debut for the Greek national team in June 2022, earning 12 caps for his adopted country.
