FIFA Approves New Transfer Window for Club World Cup Participants

The FIFA Council has approved a new transfer window for all member associations whose teams will be participating in the Club World Cup. This was announced on FIFA's official website.

"The 2025 Club World Cup will mark the beginning of a new era for global club football. These regulations will ensure the best possible conditions for all 32 participating clubs and the world’s top players to shine at the highest level," FIFA President Gianni Infantino said.

The FIFA Council meeting took place on Thursday in Zurich. According to the rules of the Club World Cup, the transfer window may be active from 1 to 10 June 2025.

Each member association will independently decide whether to open this transfer window. Additionally, clubs will be allowed to extend player contracts if their current agreements expire before the end of the tournament.

The 2025 Club World Cup will be held in the United States from 15 June to 13 July.
