Former Barcelona and Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has announced his retirement from professional football.

In a video message shared on social media, Bravo stated, «I want to inform you that I am stepping away from professional football. I have made a thoughtful and correct decision, which we discussed as a family. The time has come to conclude this very important chapter of my life and begin a new, family-oriented phase.

I extend my gratitude to all the clubs that have given me the opportunity to grow and develop in every aspect—both personally and professionally. Thank you to Colo-Colo, Real Sociedad, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Betis. I am grateful to all my teammates throughout my career, to the technical staff, managers, and employees who have always supported me, especially during challenging times. A special thanks to the fans around the world who have shown me love, respect, and admiration.»

The goalkeeper won two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, a Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup while with Barcelona. During his time at Manchester City, Bravo secured the English Premier League title, the FA Cup, two English Super Cups, and three English League Cups. Furthermore, as part of the Chilean national team, he was a two-time winner of the Copa America.
