Former Mexico international Blanco accused of attempted rape of stepsister
Former Mexico forward Cuauhtémoc Blanco has been accused of attempting to rape his stepsister.
According to a report by Marca, citing El Financiero, a lawsuit was filed against the 51-year-old former footballer last week. Blanco served as the governor of Morelos from 2018 to 2024.
The alleged victim is Blanco's stepsister, Blanca Fabiola, who at the time of the alleged incident was employed in the state’s Secretariat of Economic Development and Labour. It is reported that Blanco allegedly assaulted her at the government's official residence and subsequently threatened her with dismissal if she reported the matter to the authorities.
Cuauhtémoc Blanco played for the Mexico national team from 1995 to 2014, earning 120 caps, scoring 39 goals, and providing 15 assists. At the club level, he had spells with Real Valladolid, Chicago Fire, Club América, and several other Mexican clubs.
