Former Sheffield United player Baldock dies aged 31

Former Sheffield United and Greece international George Baldock has died aged 31.

According to The Sun, the defender was found dead in the pool of his home in Athens. Today, Baldock's wife, who lives in England, was unable to contact the footballer and asked a mutual friend to visit him at home. An acquaintance of the couple discovered the player's body.

George Baldock played for Sheffield United since 2017. The defender played 219 matches for the Blades, including 83 games in the Premier League, and scored six goals and provided 16 assists. Last summer, Baldock moved to Panathinaikos, for which he played four matches this season.

George Baldock made his debut for the Greek national team in June 2022. The defender played 12 games for the team.
