Gabriel has spoken out about an incident in which Erling Haaland threw the ball at his head

Arsenal defender Gabriel has commented on an incident where Manchester City forward Erling Haaland threw the ball at his head.

During the 98th minute of the match between Manchester City and Arsenal in the fifth round of the Premier League, the score equalized at 2-2. Following John Stones' shot, the ball ricocheted into the net of the Gunners' goal. In that moment, Erling Haaland ran into the Arsenal goal, grabbed the ball, and threw it at the back of defender Gabriel, who was facing away from the Norwegian.

«I don’t even remember this,» Gabriel remarked in an interview with TNT Sports Brazil.

«It’s normal, they were happy after scoring in the last minute. They were playing at home, so their duty was to win the match, but our team did really well to resist. It’s a battle, a war, so it’s normal to have provocative acts in football, it’s part of the game. Now this is over and we are waiting for them at our ground.»

It was announced the day before that Haaland will not face any punishment for throwing the ball at Gabriel's head.
