Haaland and Manchester City at an Impasse Over New Contract
Negotiations between Manchester City and Norwegian forward Erling Haaland over extending his contract, which is set to expire in the summer of 2027, have hit a stalemate, according to reports from TEAMtalk.
The main issue is the disagreement over the release clause that would be included in the new contract. Haaland, 24, is reportedly pushing for a buyout clause of £100 million (€118 million), while Manchester City considers this figure too low.
Despite the current impasse, both parties are expected to continue discussions in the coming weeks, with hopes of reaching an agreement soon.
According to Transfermarkt, Haaland's market value is estimated at €200 million.
