Howard claims Guardiola has ruined football

24 September 2024 13:31

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard has delivered a scathing critique of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

"Pep Guardiola has ruined football in every possible way. He made everyone believe they could play possession-based football. But they can't. Not everyone can do it—maybe three teams in the world can pull it off properly," Howard remarked during the "It’s Called Soccer" podcast.

Guardiola holds the record for the most consecutive wins in La Liga, the Bundesliga, and the Premier League. With Manchester City, the manager has won the English league title six times, lifted the FA Cup twice, and claimed the Community Shield on three occasions.
